White Christmas

That classic old movie is on today. You know, it has been a favorite of mine for as long as I remember, and when I received my very first VCR for Christmas one year, I made it a point to find a copy of that movie. It has been a part of the video library for as long as I have had VCRs and I still dig it out and watch it, spring, summer, fall or winter.

I certainly hope it comes on again before the season's over. Love that movie.

I watch it every time it comes on, thank you Ted Turner and for all of his cable stations, a true classic.

Great minds.....

I had run the VCR of this movie a week or so ago, and I was planning to write a blog about it. It is a movie that could not be made today, as the "Let's put on a show" films are laughably corny by today's "hip" standards. You know... People fall in love while dancing in perfect step together, and they burst into song (in perfect harmony, with an orchestral background) on a train.

I'm damned glad that it WAS made in 1954 so that we can all enjoy the magic of a nice story with wonderful music and dancing every Christmas.

You've got good taste.

I knew something was missing this Christmas! I haven't seen it on the line-up... best buy it, I guess.
On the flip side, Rudolph has been on 3 times, and every time I hear Burl Ives sing Holly Jolly Christmas I tear up. ;)
