I have my doubts that he survived more than a few hours after the first tape was made. I believe they made both videos at about the same time and just sat on the pix until after the body had been dumped.
There was no sane or rational reason for this man to be murdered. Nor is there any sane or rational reason for any foreign national to continue to work in that place, providing support and skilled labor to a country who's own population will not or can not provide it for themselves.
It is at this point in time that all foreign corporations should be required to pull their workforces out and shutter their offices. Now. Immediately.

It is time for the all sane people to demand divestiture of all corporations supporting the current state of all nations which harbor, train, and invest in terrorist groups.
When the LLL screech "No Blood for Oil" it should take on new meaning, a much more accurate meaning than their original anti-war protests.
Yes, let there be no more innocent civilian blood shed by any of the six million ex-pat workers currently in Saudi Arabia to prop up their crappy economy by pumping their oil.
No more money for madrasas. No more money for perfumed princes who slither about on U.S. universities. No more money for men who demand their women be circumsised and stripped of all personal freedom and dignity. No more money for the women who will not stand up and fight this mysogynist regime. No more money for a government that persecutes on the basis of religious beliefs.
No more men lured with the opportunity of a good paycheck, only to have their lives cut short because of home grown and governmentally approved terrorists. No more field workers, clerical staffs, managers, directors, food service personnel, or their defenseless families.
Open the valves and let them swim in it. I'll support it no more.

The LLL will always tout the line that those expatriot workers were taking a known risk and lost, or that they are mercenaries out for oil money, or that they were interested in big business. What those fools don't realize or admit to is the fact that the world's economy is oil based. From their food to the clothing they wear, their heating and cooling, lighting and transportation, all are interdependent upon oil.
It's time to pull our resources out of Saudi Arabia and let the S.O.B's go down to to the defeat they deserve. None of them work for a living and hire it done by outsiders, I personally know how long a processing facility will stay on line without diligent attention. with any luck they will detonate and burn what is left behind. Better yet destroy all the facilities as we leave. Let the sorry %*\~ eat sand.

Nice to see someone who can corraborate my experience with Saudi's.
My experience was that they treat everyone who isn't an Arab as a slave. Americans are just well trained slaves.
Saudi Arabia, and Saudis, make me sick. Pull out, let their country collapse, then move in and make them a US protectorate. No more OPEC, no more foreign oil dependency, no more Saudi snobbery.
